Zoua is First 5 Fresno County's Communications Director. She handles internal and external communications for the Commission and also works on the Commission's advocacy agenda. Zoua enjoys her work and is excited to be able to help "tell the story" of First 5.

In January 2005, Zoua joined First 5 and helped to create and execute the Commission's communications efforts. Prior to joining First 5, Zoua spent about a decade in television.

She started working in television when she was 17 years old. Zoua spent four years co-hosting and reporting for Hmong television shows in Fresno and St. Paul, Minnesota. Before graduating from college, she was a reporter-trainee at the ABC station in St. Paul/Minneapolis. She then moved to Fresno and worked as a reporter/fill-in anchor at the NBC station. Zoua has been honored for her reporting with two Associated Press Awards and a Best of the West Award.
