Joke and be silly - babies love it and it encourages brain activity.
Language exchanges can be nonverbal. Use gestures as well as words when communicating with your baby.
Use your surroundings as a tool when communicating with your baby. (i.e. Point and talk about ordinary things you encounter in the course of a day.)
