Soft brightly colored blocks & graduated containers are great for toddlers because they love to knock things over and play "in & out" - placing items in containers and taking them out.

Stack these blocks or containers for your toddler and encourage them to knock them down. Show enthusiasm when they do.

Simple puzzle games, such as one- or two-piece puzzles with large pieces, can be used for fun learning activities to share with your older toddler. Talk to your toddler about the pieces' shapes and colors while putting them together.

The boxes toys come in can be more interesting than toys for in & out games. Toddlers love to put themselves in & out of boxes too.
